Description

The ‘teils tiles’ design addresses the issue of façade design in the form of a reversible material composite. The combination of cork and mineral tiles provides acoustic and thermal insulation as well as a potential vertical foundation. The detachable composite material can be attached to the established Fischer agraff system using a specially developed adapter piece. The resulting modularity, combined with the outstanding properties of expanded cork, makes the façade structure particularly suitable for densely built-up urban spaces. Its location in the urban space responds to the growing demand for vertical greening. Mosses, as a naturally occurring plant species on buildings, not only require less watering, but also minimise the risk of structural damage, unlike the usual climbing plants. The tile element provides the base for the planting and sews the cork panels together to form a ventilated curtain wall.
