Manifestation of a Border Crossing
Description
Borders can be found everywhere: from cell nuclei to the atmosphere, they exist between countries, cultures, and people. My examination of the concept of “borders” was aimed at exploring its inherent aspects. Borders are never absolute; they are changeable and fluid, because they are created by people and always a matter of perspective. This has been embodied in my textile collection “NEO-SHIBORI”, which reinterprets the traditional Japanese Shibori technique. This work calls for self-reflection and the questioning of one's own boundaries.
