Description

NAWA is the result of my master's thesis. It is a movable stool set mainly made of wood and stainless steel. By certain movements of people sitting on the stool, the sensors of the stool are activated and pieces of music are played. So each chair stands for an instrument and "sings" its unique melody when rotated. When all the chairs are turned at the same time, the sitters hear an ensemble playing. The product lets people feel each other without touching, thereby eliminating human loneliness and alienation in cities. As a social furniture design, NAWA provides an incentive for interaction that connects people. It thus has a high design impact and gives public space a special accent.
