Description

The increasing social divide and the rise in right-wing extremist violence are leading to growing discrimination against people with a migration background. Especially for people of mixed heritage, uncertainty about identity and belonging is increasing.
The video installation Luk Kreung uses a hidden object image to make everyday racism tangible through small scenes. It depicts the artist’s exploration of her identity and her confrontation with stereotypes in both cultures.
The video installation invites viewers to take a closer look, discover details, and question their own prejudices. The combination of visual naivety and thematic depth allows the complexity of the topic to be presented in a symbolic and abstract way that goes beyond mere illustration and conveys the emotional and psychological dimensions of identity conflicts more deeply.
Additional sound recordings and an accompanying booklet provide further context and understanding.
