Dr. Angelika Nollert

Dr. Angelika Nollert is director of the Neue Sammlung – The Design Museum.

With over 100,000 objects from the fields of Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Computer Culture, Mobility and Arts and Crafts, the Neue Sammlung – The Design Museum is one of the largest and most important museums of 20th and 21st century applied art in the world. It is not only considered the oldest design museum, but also a leader in the fields of Industrial and Product Design.

From the very beginning, Die Neue Sammlung set itself apart from the simultaneously existing museums of applied art or museums of art and commerce by committing itself decidedly to the modernism of its time and thus to contemporary design. This founding claim continues to shape the museum’s program to this day.

“I am very honored to be able to serve on the GDG jury.
The overall range and quality of the submissions was very impressive. Despite Corona and the obstacles it creates for practical work as well, there were exceptional designs and models again this year.
It’s good that GDG exists to support design students.”
