Description

In speech therapy, direct interaction through physical touch enriches the therapy. Gestures and touch support communication and make it easier to learn and imitate correct pronunciation and mouth movements. In some regions, however, a shortage of speech therapists makes access to therapy difficult. Transport problems and long distances are additional barriers, especially for those in remote areas, leading to missed sessions and reduced effectiveness.

Video therapy improves communication between speech therapists and patients, especially where space is limited. ‘EUTON’ enables tactile interaction: sensors on the device measure the patient’s body data and transmit it to the therapist. The therapist receives real-time data to assess and initiate appropriate treatment. Video therapy complements traditional face-to-face therapy as “blended therapy”, allowing for more comprehensive and flexible treatment.
