Doch nochmal was mit Holz
Fragen von Besitz und Zugänglichkeit
Description
‘Wood, once again’ is an installation made from trees from the Karlsruhe urban area that have been transformed into wooden blocks.
The aim of the project was to find a way to repurpose dead or diseased trees.
Branches are now turned into brick-like wooden blocks, while other parts of the tree become natural stones or rubble.
Exhibited as a model installation of a small apartment, it presents new forms of living.
The intervention in the resource was kept as minimal as possible in order to leave future uses of the wooden pieces open.
The material is essentially only borrowed for its current use and, in posing this question, refers to Karl Marx’s texts on wood theft — and thus also to questions of ownership and access to existing materials.
