About Stephan Ott
Since 1 March 2020 Stephan Ott has been head of the newly founded Institute for Design Research and Appliance (IfDRA), which is based at the German Design Council. Since 1994 Ott has been working as a freelance author, journalist and editor with a focus on design. From 1999 to 2012, he was head of press and public relations at the German Design Council. From 2012 to 2020 he was editor-in-chief of the trade journal form.
About IfDRA
The Institute for Design Research and Appliance (IfDRA) sees itself as an interface, mediator and consultant for the various exponents from theory (teaching and research) and application-oriented practice (users, designers, entrepreneurs). The institute sees its fundamental task not only in supporting academic-scientific basic research, but also in backing practical design research.

As in previous years, Stephan Ott will be a member of the jury in 2023, contributing his expertise to the selection of exhibitors and award winners.
