About Lynn Harles
Lynn Harles is a Board Member at the German Society for Design Theory and Research (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Designtheorie und Forschung, DGTF), the Founder of the Freelance Design Research Lab “Studio Harles,” and is a PhD Fellow at Bauhaus-University Weimar.
Lynn Harles focuses on exploring the potential of the interdisciplinary intersection of design and science in addressing social, technological, and environmental challenges. Her research particularly emphasizes the exploration of the more-than-human turn in the design discipline. Currently, she investigates the roles of Design Research Labs and Natural History Museums as agents of change for eco-social transition and policy making.
She has gained professional experience as an interdisciplinary Design Researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute (CERRI) and the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and has collaborated in various projects in the public and private sector such as “Design for Innovation Ruanda” (GIZ), Microsoft Earth Lab, Wissenschaftsjahr Bioökonomie 2020-2021 and Transferwissenschaft.
